Plants

Eventhough the film was never completed, “Plants” was a fantastic movie to work on.
I was so fortunate to work as art director for the film under amazing directors Paul and Gaëtan Brizzi. I was such a fan of their work (Particularly the “Firebird suite” in Fantasia 2000) and working alongside them was such a humbling experience. We were a small art team (Vincent Mahé, Jean-Luc Serrano and Bille Andersen), but I am so proud of the work we did.

The beginning

These are some of the color keys I did per sequence. This first sequence was particularly special. It showed the mythology in the film, establishing the origin of the universe, the emergence of natural forces and ultimately life. Not an easy thing to tackle, but I was hoping to capture the raw powers at stake, almost working in a completely abstract way.
